CITIC Guoan Wine won award at Discovering China – China Wine Summit 2016

Known as the Oscar in the wine industry, Discovering China – China Wine Summit 2016 was successfully concluded in Shanghai on February 29, 2016. Co-organized by Shanghai Morning Post and Taste Spirit wine magazine, the summit is the highest, largest and top wine summit in China. At unprecedented scale, the three-day 2016 wine summit saw more than two thousand professionals and wine lovers, among which more than a thousand people attended the China Fine Wine Exhibition and Intentional Master Tasting and Appraisal. With the world top wine tasters Jancis Robinson, Bernard Burtschy, and Ian D'Agata and the Chinese masters WANG Zuming, LI Demei, and DUAN Changqing presenting, the summit attracted representatives from 90% of the Chinese wine regions and hundreds of Chinese wine manufacturing and sales enterprises.

Announcing the Top Ten Chinese Wines of the Year is one of the highlights of the summit. Through six hours of blind tasting, discussion and re-examination, 11 wines were chosen from the 68 tasted wines and recommended as Top Ten Chinese Wines 2016 jointly by the world top tasters such as Jancis Robinson, Bernard Burtschy, and Ian D'Agata. Niya Winemaker Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Red Wine 2013 produced by CITIC Guoan Wine won reward of Top Ten Chinese Wines 2016 due to its excellent quality.

In addition, the summit also presented awards of Most Potential Chinese Wine of the Year 2016, China Wine Character 2016, Winemaker of the Year 2015. Fred Nauleau, the chief winemaker of CITIC Guoan Wine won the Winemaker of the Year 2015 because of his perseverance. Born in a wine family, Fred lived and rooted in Xinjiang for 15 years. He created a variety of award-wining wines recognized and recommended by the wine industry relying on his deep love to the natural condition of Xinjiang and his pursuit of quality. Also, jointly recommended by the wine masters, Niya Winemaker Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Red Wine 2012 was selected as one the sample fine wines for the China Wine Master Class of the summit.

The awards won by CITIC Guoan Wine included wine and winemaker. Niya Winemaker Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Red Wine 2013, winner of Top Ten Chinese Wines 2016 was the work of Fred Nauleau, Chief winemaker of CITIC Guoan Wine, winner of Winemaker of the Year 2015.
